Many Thanks To Our Retiring APTA Board Members
Peter Lauer The Man from Atlanta, Peter Lauer completed his second term, serving as Chair of the Investment Committee and Chair of the Court Innovation Committee, and as a member of the Grants & Loans and Masters Committees. He grew up playing junior paddle in Pittsburgh and talked up the sport wherever he landed for work. He founded Peachtree Paddle and invited everyone he met to come play in Ge
orgia anytime--the offer still stands.
The APTA and the APTA Board are grateful for Peter’s enthusiasm for the game, the twinkle in his eye he brought to meetings, his desire to build APTA investments, and his long-standing (12 full years on the board in 2 decades) commitment to the APTA.
Laura James represented the Western region (Region VI) on the board. She grew up around the sport but dove into it in the 2000s. Laura contributed to the game both on the East Coast and most recently in the Denver area. Laura’s passion for community building and supporting growth in small leagues fueled her contributions at the local and national level. She participated on the Grants and Loans Committee and the Media Committee. The APTA is thankful for the time Laura gave to a sport she loves.
