Building a new Racquets Lounge unites paddle, tennis, pickleball, and golf members in a large modern space.

FACTS

History   Founded in 1920, Shannopin CC has an Emil Loeffler-designed golf course, and a clubhouse with views of the Pittsburgh skyline.

Racquets Facility   Completed in 2023, with four paddle courts, two pickleball courts, two tennis courts, an indoor golf simulator, and a spacious hut.

Outdoors   Large outdoor deck in between all four courts, covered hangout area on the veranda, partially surrounded by woodlands.

Indoors Seating for over 50, tall windows for viewing, two TVs, a horizontal gas fireplace, high tops and dining tables, leather couches, a golf simulator built for small parties, contemporary ceiling lights, and room for milling about.

Club Connections  “Here in Western Pennsylvania, platform tennis is a very tight-knit community. Chances are, if you participate in paddle tennis at another club or in a league, you will eventually work your way to our lounge.”
